Peri Peri House...

Footsteps Icon or Footprint Silhouette

Peri Peri, a Sicilian way of saying 'going/being around', was born out of a passion for travelling and an interest in foreign languages and cultures.

After years of research, travel and exchanges, the story of Peri Peri House begins in the very heart of Palermo's historic city centre, a crossroads of different peoples, each of which has left its mark on the many aspects of the local culture, even in the language and DNA of its inhabitants.

The concept of Peri Peri House is the fusion of art and culture in a single place: symbols from some of the world's cities tell the story of this project: the English phonebox, the Eiffel Tower, a small bonsai tree, the Sicilian cart, the world map, the Sicilian pine cone, the Moorish heads, paintings of New York, the Caribbean beach and Guttuso's Vucciria painting... the whole world in a house, as the logo itself is intended to represent. The world, its monuments and feet going round.

Peri Peri House is committed to offering its guests an experience that goes beyond a simple stay. Its mission is to make guests feel at home, creating an atmosphere of warmth, welcome and familiarity. What makes it different is the attention to detail and the love of hosting: everything is designed to make guests feel like part of a family at home away from home. Proud to be the perfect place for those seeking a cosy place to find rest and serenity, our commitment is to ensure that every guest leaves with the desire to return, knowing that they will always find a familiar environment waiting for them at Peri Peri House.

Piazza San Domenico

Piazza San Domenico is a historic square located in the heart of Palermo and takes its name from the nearby church of San Domenico, a religious building of great importance in the city and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The square has a rich history dating back to the Middle Ages. It was an important meeting and market place at the time. Over the centuries, Piazza San Domenico has undergone various transformations and witnessed significant events.

Piazza San Domenico is also known for its proximity to other places of interest and attractions in Palermo. For instance, the famous Quattro Canti crossroads is only a few steps away. In addition, the renowned Teatro Massimo, one of the largest opera houses in Europe, is nearby.

The Vucciria market

The Vucciria market

The Vucciria is a district of Palermo that hosts one of Sicily's most famous markets located in the city's historical centre and not far from the port and La Cala. Its name comes from the French word 'Boucherie', meaning 'butcher's shop', as the market was initially intended for the sale of meat, and in Palermo, this term also became synonymous with hubbub, no doubt due to the loud hubbub that is usually made at the market.

Over the years, the market expanded and stalls selling clothes, household goods, souvenirs and more were also added. Today, it is possible to find a wide variety of products, both food and non-food, offered by the street vendors who animate the market streets.

What makes the Vucciria a unique place is its lively and chaotic atmosphere. The streets are narrow and crowded, the sound of the vendors' voices echoes in the air and the bright colours of the stalls create a fascinating visual spectacle. It is a place where you can immerse yourself in Sicilian culture, taste local specialities and do some traditional shopping.
